Painting can be a little messy, but messy equals fun for most kids. Painting games can be a lot of fun when your kids are bored or if you feel they need a little time away from the video games to use their own imagination for a change. You will need to make sure you have an area so paint or the right supplies so that you do not end up with ruined carpets or furniture, but fun with paint is something that almost all children will enjoy. New products make this easier than ever if you choose to invest in them, but you can use whatever you wish.

The supplies you may need for painting games would be large paper pads, paints, brushes, and easels. These things are not too expensive and can be found in any department store, craft store, or you can search around online for what you need. If you are using regular paints, you may also want to find things like smocks that will keep clothing paint-free and perhaps large mats made from plastic or canvas that you can put over carpet or any flooring to catch any spilled or splashed paint. You can also paint outdoors if you have nice weather.

Once you have what you need, you can then get started on your painting games. These can be whatever you wish, but you should tailor what you are going to do to the age of your children. Three years olds are not going to paint a landscape, and if they can, you may want to have them in an art class. Otherwise, you want to challenge children these ages with specific colors shapes, and easy types of paintings that they can attempt. You can find a way to make these painting games fun and also make them a learning tool if you wish.

Older children will enjoy painting games too, but you want to make them a bit more advanced. You can see what they can do and then go from there. Make sure the painting games are fun and rewarding, but also so that they challenge something within them that makes them want to excel. This is not as hard as it sounds.
